How We're Different

bottom
Several pro-business Washington-based organizations have formed a coalition to mount a DC-focused public relations campaign to counter the re-emergence of Card Check. Because these coalition member groups have a broad legislative agenda, they are mindful of protecting the quality of their Congressional relationships, which dampens the intensity with which they are willing to target specific Members.

While this broad-based “kinder and gentler” national issue messaging is useful for increasing public awareness of the devastating impact that Card Check and related measures will have on business, the absence of a hard-hitting, district-focused campaign leaves a serious gap in that overall effort. EFA is not encumbered by the need for political correctness and hence its response can be better positioned to fill the critical messaging void in overall Card Check opposition campaign. A plan with the notion that it is the “point of the spear” is needed to augment the battle that will take place on Capital Hill.

For those reasons, the Economic Freedom Alliance–partnering with a number of Midwestern statewide employer organizations–will:

  • Tailor the program to fill the needs specific to each state involved, and each congressional district within those states, including on-the-ground troops to coordinate local business owners’ communications with their their members of Congress.
  • Make those members of Congress feel the pressure from our central message about the harmful effect that radical organized labor proposals in Congress will have on job creation in the Midwest.
  • Provide all of the above points while maintaining the strict ethical, regulatory and procedural standards set forth by law and each organization’s bylaws.
